Sift 2 tsp of matcha or hojicha powder into a bowl. Add 60 ml of hot water (75°C) not too hot - and whisk until smooth and slightly frothy.

If you are feeling wild, our favourite ratio is 2,5g of Matcha or Hojicha for 28g of water for a more thick and creamy paste, intense flavor

2. Steam Your Milk

Heat 2/3 cup of your favorite milk until creamy with microfoam.

3. Pour & Enjoy

Slowly pour the steamed milk over the whisked hojicha. Sweeten to taste if you want!

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between matcha and hojicha?

Matcha is a vibrant green powder made from finely ground shade-grown tea leaves, while hojicha is a roasted green tea with a toasty, amber color and mellow flavor.

What are the benefits of drinking Hojicha? (Other than being cozy and delicious)

Hojicha is a low-caffeine roasted green tea that's gentle on the stomach and promotes calm focus thanks to its L-theanine content. Rich in antioxidants and naturally free from additives, it supports digestion, mental clarity, and even oral health, all with a smooth, toasty flavor.
